The Bureau of Reclamation seeks bids for control upgrade and modernization of bridge and gantry cranes at 198.72-MW Folsom Dam, on California’s American River. Bids are due Aug. 2.

Reclamation awarded a $16.6 million contract in April to Kiewit Pacific Co. for modification of spillway piers and gates of Folsom Dam to resist seismic loadings. In the current solicitation, Reclamation seeks replacement or refurbishment of components of a 275-ton-capacity bridge crane and a 140-ton-capacity gantry crane. The work is expected to cost between $1 million and $5 million.
