Builder sought for 5-MW Gars hydroelectric project in Germany

Hydropower operator Verbund Innkraftwerke GmbH seeks bids for construction of the 5-MW Gars hydroelectric project on Germany’s Inn River. Bids are due August 4.

A subsidiary of utility Verbund of Austria, Verbund Innskraftwerke operates 13 hydroelectric plants on the Inn that were acquired by Verbund in 2009 from E.ON Wasserkraft GmbH. (HydroWorld 6/11/09)

Construction of Gars is to include 2,500 square meters of sheet piling, 40,000 cubic meters of excavation, 9,500 cubic meters of reinforced concrete, 800 tons of reinforcing steel, building services, and fire protection. The work is to require 22 months.
