Burundi pre-qualifies firms to construct 31.5-MW Jiji, 16.5-MW Mulembwe hydro projects

Burundi’s water and electric utility invites applications for pre-qualification to construct the 31.5-MW Jiji and 16.5-MW Mulembwe hydroelectric projects in Burundi’s Bururi Province. Responses are due March 30.

Regie de Production et de Distribution d’Eau et d’Electricite (REGIDESO) recruited consultants last year to serve as financial management consultant as well as for a financial audit and procurement and to handle records and accounts of the Projet Hydroelectrique de Jiji et Mulembwe (PHJIMU).

REGIDESO now seeks applications for pre-qualification to build the two plants, located 3.75 kilometers apart.

Pre-qualification documents in French may be obtained from the address below for 200,000 francs or the equivalent in U.S. dollars (US$128) payable to Account No. 1123/172 titled “PHJIMU REGIDESO” at Banque de la Republique du Burundi.

Applications for pre-qualification are due March 30 labeled “Candidature de Pre-qualification pour les Travaux d’Amenagements des Centrales Hydroelectriques de Jiji et Mulembwe objet de l’AOI No. O1/DAPQ/PHJIMU/REGIDESO/T/2015.”
