California agency seeks hydro generator consultant

The California Department of Water Resources requests qualifications from hydro generator test engineering consultants. Responses are due November 1.

The agency seeks a consultant to train DWR staff, conduct dynamic testing of hydropower generators, derive and validate models, and prepare test reports for DWR to submit to the Western Electricity Coordinating Council. The reports will be used to obtain WECC generator certification.

Consultants must have experience in: model derivation and validation; hydro generator and dynamic control system tuning and testing; and classroom and in-field staff training. The agency desires references from at least three of the consultant’s customers for similar services to meet WECC guidelines.

The request for qualifications, No. 10110550, is to be available Sept. 1. Copies may be requested from the address below, preferably by e-mail or fax. Requests must include company name, mailing address, contact person, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address.
