Call extended for marine energy poster abstracts for Waterpower Week in Washington

The deadline to submit abstracts for the poster session being presented as part of the International Marine Renewable Energy Conference has been extended to Jan. 18.

IMREC takes place April 1-3 in Washington, D.C., during the National Hydropower Association’s Waterpower Week in Washington 2019. The board for the Marine Energy Technology Symposium participated in the IMREC planning process and is assisting in the development of these technical sessions.

In addition, as part of the IMREC program, there will be a METS poster session that addresses the engineering, environmental, economic and societal aspects of wave and current energy converters.

Specific areas of technical interest include:

  • Engineering research, development, and demonstration of systems and components through simulation, laboratory experiments, and field testing
  • Assessment and characterization of resources through simulation and field measurements
  • Identification, monitoring, and mitigation of environmental effects
  • Economic assessments
  • Societal research and policy developments related to marine energy

The abstract submission deadline is Jan. 17, and authors will receive notification of acceptance Feb. 1.
