Canada utility extends switchgear call, seeks excitation for 695-MW Keeyask hydro project

Keeyask Hydropower Project

Canadian utility Manitoba Hydro has extended the deadline for bids to supply switchgear and bus duct for the 695-MW Keeyask hydroelectric project and issued another solicitation seeking excitation systems for the project. Switchgear bids now are due June 2.

Manitoba Hydro previously called for switchgear bids by May 19 for Keeyask, which is being built on the Lower Nelson River in Manitoba.

Manitoba Hydro took bids in April to supply a draft tube crane and an intake monorail crane for Keeyask. It took bids in February to supply generator circuit breakers. The project site was evacuated in January due to a bomb threat.

The utility now seeks bids to design, manufacture and deliver 10 600-volt switchgear lineups and interconnecting bus duct. At the purchaser’s option, the work could include spare parts, special tools and equipment, on-site assistance, reliability-centered maintenance analysis and training of personnel.

The solicitation may be obtained from the Canadian Public Tenders Internet site under http://www.merx.com/English/SUPPLIER_Menu.asp?WCE=Show&TAB=3&PORTAL=MERX&State=7&id=PR327175&src=osr&FED_ONLY=0&ACTION=NEXT&rowcount=2000&lastpage=200&MoreResults=&PUBSORT=2&CLOSESORT=0&IS_SME=N&hcode=YuuiE572HJuzEXgPXyERNQ%3d%3d. Bids now are due by 4 p.m., Central time, June 2.

Static excitation systems sought for Keeyask

Manitoba Hydro also seeks bids by July 15 for design, manufacture and delivery of seven static excitation systems and seven static excitation transformers for Keeyask.

At the purchaser’s option, work also could include supply of arc-resistant excitation transformer enclosures, an excitation test rack, spare parts and special maintenance tools and equipment.

The solicitation may be obtained from the Canadian Public Tenders Internet site under http://www.merx.com/English/SUPPLIER_Menu.asp?WCE=Show&TAB=3&PORTAL=MERX&State=7&id=PR330003&src=osr&FED_ONLY=0&ACTION=&rowcount=&lastpage=&MoreResults=&PUBSORT=2&CLOSESORT=0&IS_SME=N&hcode=8ko5QZq8%2fdpzQkiCzDffyQ%3d%3d.
