Canada utility seeks dam safety reviews for three Nelson River hydro projects

Canadian utility Manitoba Hydro seeks bids to perform three separate dam safety reviews of three hydroelectric projects on Manitoba’s Nelson River. Bids are due Aug. 7.

Manitoba Hydro seeks a consultant to perform dam safety reviews of the 1,220-MW Kettle, 1,010-MW Long Spruce and 1,340-MW Limestone hydroelectric projects.

Each review is to confirm compliance of Manitoba Hydro’s Dam Safety Program with Canadian Dam Association guidelines or other industry standards. They are to identify any deficiencies related to safe operation of water retaining structures.
