Canada utility seeks spare generator stator for 133-MW Great Falls hydro project

Canadian utility Manitoba Hydro seeks bids to design, supply and assemble a spare generator stator for the 133-MW Great Falls hydroelectric project in Manitoba. A site visit is scheduled Oct. 14, with bids due Nov. 18.

Manitoba Hydro took bids last year to refurbish turbine wicket gates at Great Falls on the Winnipeg River. (HydroWorld 9/4/14) Units at Great Falls are taken down every three years for maintenance. Manitoba Hydro also took bids last year to perform civil construction related to refurbishment of the Unit 4 turbine-generator.

The utility now seeks bids for design, supply and assembly of at least one complete stator for future use at Great Falls.
