Great Falls is among a half-dozen Manitoba Hydro generating stations on the Winnipeg River. Units at Great Falls are taken down every three years for maintenance. Manitoba Hydro took bids in July to perform civil construction related to refurbishment of the Unit 4 turbine-generator.
