CDA 2011 begins Oct. 15

FREDERICTON, New Brunswick, Canada 10/6/11 (PennWell) — The Canadian Dam Association 2011 Annual Conference will be held Oct. 15-20 in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. This year’s theme: Surveillance and Safety.

More than 250 delegates are expected to attend the event.

Session topics include: Surveillance and Instrumentation; Public Safety Management Systems; Safety of Small Dams; Long Term Monitoring of Mining Dam Closures; Emergency Preparedness; Regulations and Dam Safety Management; Education and Outreach; Socio-economic Impacts; Coastal Zone and Shoreline Protection; and Decommissioning and Restoration.

The conference also will feature technical workshops, including Dam Safety Reviews, Dams and Public Safety, The Insurance Industry and Dams, and Geophysical Techniques in Dam Monitoring and Surveillance.

The social program includes a welcome reception at the Fredericton Convention Center, a lobster party for exhibitors, and a banquet.
