CKD Blansko to supply hydro turbine-generator for Plav project

Utility company Jihocesky Vodarensky Svaz has awarded a contract CKD Blansko Engineering to supply a turbine-generator for the intake of the Plav water treatment plant in the Czech Republic.

The utility solicited bids for the work in May, which calls for CKD Blansko to supply a vertical Francis turbine for TG 2 at the existing water inlet of the plant, which is located at the Rimov Reservoir on the Malse River.

An existing unit, TG 1, is to continue in its existing installation and will be used as a reserve.

Other recent work in the Czech Republic includes a contract award by hydro developer RenoEnergie a.s. for work on the Plzen-Hradste small hydro plant and an award by utility CEZ to Servis-Energo s.r.o. for repair work at the 120-MW Lipno 1 and 1.5-MW Lipno 2 hydro projects.
