Consultants invited to plan Armenia renewable energy, including hydro

The government of Armenia invites expressions of interest from consultants to develop a “roadmap” for Armenian renewable energy development until 2020. Responses are due May 6.

The government previously named Armenian consultants to participate in hydropower and other renewable energy development under the World Bank-funded renewable energy program. (HydroWorld 11/5/08) Additionally, the World Bank’s International Finance Corp. approved a US$15 million loan in February to Armenian bank Ameriabank to help finance the development of small hydropower projects in the country. (HydroWorld 2/24/10)

In the current solicitation, the Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund seeks a roadmap to identify the economically and financially viable potential of renewable energy in Armenia. The consultant is to set up short-term, mid-term, and long-term targets for development of renewable energy, and outline specific steps to achieve the targets.

Expressions of interest and qualifications are due to the address below by 6 p.m. May 6.
