Contract awarded to operate France’s Naussac 1, 2

Etablissement Public Loire has awarded a contract to BRL Exploitation of France to operate and maintain the Naussac 1 and 2 small hydro and pumping stations in France’s Loire River Basin.

BRL, which has previously operated the projects for the agency, received a new contact valued at 1.6 million euros (US$2 million).

The plants are used to prevent excessive seasonal flow variations in the Loire. When there is an excess of water in the tributary Allier River, the project’s generating units are used as pumps.
