Corps awards contract to Progressive Construction for work at Mississippi’s Enid Dam

Progressive Construction Co. LLC has won a US$151,233 contract for flood control civil works at Enid Dam in Mississippi.

The work, offered by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, includes emergency spillway and interceptor toe ditch joint sealing. Progressive Construction will remove and replace expansion joint material in vertical concrete wall monoliths of the approach and descent aprons of the emergency spillway and the dam toe interceptor ditch and outfall drain.

The Corps’ Vicksburg District most recently called for bids earlier this month.

Enid Dam, located on the Yazoo River in Yalobusha County, does not have hydroelectric capabilities, but the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission granted preliminary permits to Hydro Green Energy LLC in 2007 to study the site’s generating potential.
