Corps awards stoplog contract for McNary hydropower plant rehab project

Transco Industries Inc. has won a US$687,559 contract to supply spare draft tube stoplogs for the 980-MW McNary hydropower project on the Columbia River.

The award was offered by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, whose Walla Walla District most recently solicited bids for the work in November of this past year.

Per the contract, Transco Industries is to supply two sets of three stoplogs weighing 20 tons each.

The stoplogs are part of an ongoing rehabilitation effort at McNary.

In addition to awarding a contract to supply anodes for the plant’s main unit intake gates earlier this week, the Corps has also recently solicited bids for thrust bearing heat exchanger replacement plates, and vertical barrier screen mesh panels for the rehabilitation project.
