Corps Hydroelectric Design Center to seek management study

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hydroelectric Design Center plans to seek bids for development of an organizational management study of restructuring the center’s Generic Maintenance Team. A solicitation was expected by the end of August with bids to be due about Sept. 11.

The Hydroelectric Design Center is the Corps’ national center of expertise for planning, engineering, and design of hydroelectric powerhouses and large pumping plants.

The Corps said the Generic Maintenance Team has grown exponentially in recent years. It said the Hydroelectric Design Center management team seeks to assure that the GMT structure and positioning within the center reflects the most efficient and effective business structure to meet customer expectations.

In a solicitation set aside for small businesses, the Corps plans to seek a firm that will utilize knowledge of the design center mission to facilitate an organizational management study.

A pre-solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering Solicitation No. W9127N12Q0079 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.
