Corps to seek replacement transformer for 45.2-MW Stockton

The Corps of Engineers plans to seek bids for a replacement transformer for the 45.2-MW Stockton hydroelectric plant in Missouri’s Sac River system. Bids are expected to be due Nov. 12, 2009.

The Corps’ Kansas City District issued a pre-solicitation notice saying a solicitation was expected in late September with the estimated Nov. 12 bidding deadline.

The agency plans to issue a firm fixed-price supply contract for a generator step-up power transformer to ensure compatibility with a restored turbine at Stockton. The Corps called for repair work on Stockton’s single turbine in March.

Work is to include design, manufacture, testing, delivery, assembly, and field testing of one 41,250/55,000-kilovolt-ampere. 13/2/161 kV, ONAN/ONAF, three-phase Class 2 generator step-up power transformer and accessories.

The pre-solicitation notice may be obtained from the Federal Business Opportunities Internet site, www.fbo.gov, by entering solicitation No. W912DQ09R1027 in the “Keyword/Solicitation #” box.

Responses are expected to be due Nov. 12. For information, contact Andre D. Vasseur, U.S. Army Engineer District, Kansas City, Attn.: CENWK-CT, 700 Federal Building, 601 E. 12th St., Kansas City, MO 64106-2896; (1) 816-389-3435; E-mail: andre.d.vasseur@usace.army.mil.
