The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks bids for rehabilitation of a 135-ton crane at the 84-MW St. Stephen hydroelectric project at St. Stephen, S.C. Bids are due Jan. 18.
The Corps’ Charleston District took bids in 2011 to replace the governor control system at St. Stephen.
In a solicitation set aside for small businesses, the Corps now seeks rehabilitation of a 135-ton bridge crane, including removal of controls, motors, brakes, operator chair and cab, and wiring and design, fabrication, and installation of replacement systems. The work is to require 120 days at less than $500,000.
