Czech utility extends bidding for turbine-generator overhaul at 120-MW Lipno 1 hydro project

Czech utility CEZ a.s. has extended the deadline for bids for mechanical overhaul of turbine-generator TG1 at the 120-MW Lipno 1 hydroelectric project on the Vlatava River in the Czech Republic. Bids now are due January 9, 2015.

CEZ previously called for bids by August 11.

CEZ awarded a contract in 2012 to Servis-Energo s.r.o. to repair or replace generator stator windings and repair generator components at Lipno 1 and 1.5-MW Lipno 2. In 2011, the utility sought replacement generator and turbine components for its hydroelectric projects in the Vlatava River cascade. In other recent Czech hydro work, South Bohemia’s water utility awarded a contract to CKD Blansko Engineering to supply a turbine-generator for the intake of the Plav water treatment plant.

CEZ now seeks bids for overhaul of TG1 including disassembly and reassembly, a new runner, guide vanes, distributor, coil, lubrication units, bearings, hydraulic regulator, servo-diffuser ring, shaft, testing and documentation. Valued at 148 million koruny (US$7.3 million), the work is to be performed from July 2015 through August 2016.

Solicitation documents may be obtained from the address below. Bids now are due by 11 a.m. January 9.
