Czech water agency seeks turbine-generator for Plav hydro plant

The water utility for the South Bohemia region of the Czech Republic seeks bids to supply a turbine-generator for the intake of the Plav water treatment plant in the Czech Republic. Bids are due June 2.

Recent work in the Czech Republic includes a contract award by hydro developer RenoEnergie a.s. for work on the Plzen-Hradste small hydro plant and an award by utility CEZ to Servis-Energo s.r.o. for repair work at the 120-MW Lipno 1 and 1.5-MW Lipno 2 hydro projects.

In the current solicitation, Jihocesky Vodarensky Svaz seeks bids to supply a vertical Francis turbine-generator for TG 2 at the existing water inlet of the Plav water treatment plant at Rimov Reservoir on the Malse River. An existing unit, TG 1, is to continue in its existing installation and will be used as a reserve.

The work is to require 13 months at an estimated cost of 13.5 million koruny (US$491,511).
