Dam safety consultants sought by California water agency

The California Department of Water Resources requests qualifications from engineering consultants to provide dam safety evaluations of various state-owned dams. Responses are due March 22, 2010.

DWR’s Division of Operation and Maintenance seeks consultants to provide expert technical advice and consultation on safety evaluations of DWR dams and other facilities, culminating in separate reports for various structures.

The project provides supplemental water to 20 million Californians and 660,000 acres of irrigated farmland.

The request for qualifications is to result in three contracts for engineering geology, civil and water resources engineering, and geotechnical engineering. Work is to be performed between July 2010 and June 2011.
The request for qualifications may be obtained by phone or e-mail request to the address below. Statements of qualifications are due by 2 p.m. Pacific time March 22.
