Dominican Republic hydro generator Empresa de Generacion Hidroelectrica Dominicana (Egehid) seeks bids for dam design and construction of the 2-MW La Dos Bocas hydroelectric project. A site visit is scheduled June 28 with bids due July 24.

The state owned utility brought the 60-MW Aguacate hydroelectric plant online in December after an extensive five-year refurbishment. Egehid is performing similar work on the 98-MW Jiguey hydro project.

In the current solicitation, the utility seeks bids for design, execution, and construction of the La Dos Bocas multi-purpose dam and hydroelectric project at Vallejuelo in San Juan de Maguana Province. In addition to installed capacity of 1 to 2 MW, La Dos Bocas is to provide water for irrigation and consumption.
