Ecuador extends bid date for studies of three projects

National utility Consejo Nacional de Electricidad (Conelec) has extended the deadline for bids to perform pre-feasibility studies of three hydroelectric projects totaling 96 MW. Bids now are due November 27.

Conelec invites proposals for pre-feasibility studies of:
o 40.4-MW Parambas, on Mira River, Imbabura Province, estimated to cost US$89.9 million;
o 36-MW Pilaton-Santa Ana, on Pilaton-Santa Ana River, Pichincha Province, US$49.4 million; and
o 19.7-MW Pamplona, on Intag River, Imbabura, US$42 million. (HNN 11/6/06)

Bidders must register and obtain documents from the address below or from the Internet site of Conelec, www.conelec.gov.ec, or Ecuador’s government contracting site, www.contratanet.gov.ec.
