Ecuador utility seeks bids to build 26-MW Ocana

Ecuador utility Empresa Generadora del Austro S.A. (ElecAustro) seeks bids to build the 26-MW Ocana hydroelectric project in Ecuador’s Canar Province. Pre-registration is due August 17, followed by bids September 17.

ElecAustro seeks bids for design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of electro-mechanical equipment, including a substation and supervisory control and data acquisition system; and construction of civil works including surge shaft, penstock, and transmission line.

Bid documents may be obtained from the utility Internet site, www.elecaustro.com.ec, or by e-mail request to ElecAustro at rleonp@elecaustro.com.ec. A site visit is scheduled June 15.

Prospective bidders must register by sending US$3,000 in cash or check to the address below by 4 p.m. August 17. Bids, in Spanish, are due by 4 p.m. September 17 to the address below.
