Equipment installation sought for India’s 400-MW Koteshwar

Equipment supplier Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) seeks bids for installation and commissioning of turbine-generators and other equipment at the 400-MW Koteshwar hydroelectric project being built on the Bhagirathi River in India’s Uttarakhand State. Bids are due April 15.

Koteshwar has a surface powerhouse and is to be integrated with the Tehri hydroelectric power complex, which also includes 1,000-MW Tehri Dam and the 1,000-MW Tehri pumped-storage project. (HNN 2/28/08)

Project developer Tehri Hydro Development Corp. Ltd. awarded a contract to BHEL for supply of Koteshwar’s four 100-MW Francis turbines, generators, transformers, and balance of plant.

BHEL now seeks installation, testing, commissioning, and trial operation of the Koteshwar equipment package.

Tender documents may be obtained from the BHEL Internet site, www.bhel.com, or from the address below for a fee of 1,000 rupees (US$26) by crossed demand draft to BHEL at Noida.
