FERC seeks comment on digital information strategy

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission invites public comment on its plan for more efficient and coordinated delivery of digital information to the public. Responses to an Internet survey are due Aug. 22.

FERC is developing the plan in response to the Obama administration’s call for a Digital Government Strategy to enable the public to have access to high-quality digital government information services “anywhere, anytime, and on any device.”

“FERC has always been an open agency making all of its decisions, within the constraints of confidentiality and privacy, openly available via its website,” the commission said. “New technologies now provide the means for the agency to take these openness practices to the next level and into the 21st Century.”

FERC invites the public to complete a digital survey by Aug. 22, on FERC’s Internet site under www.ferc.gov/digitalstrategy.asp. It is to enable respondents to select data sets or digital collections of information they find most valuable for expanded access.
