French engineer seeks valve refurbishment at 5.9-MW Panneciere

ANNECY, France 6/14/12 (PennWell) — Hydropower engineer Hydrostadium invites applications for pre-qualification to construct cofferdams and refurbish a large valve of the 5.9-MW Panneciere hydroelectric project on the Yonne River in France’s Nievre Department. Responses are due July 2.

Hydrostadium, a subsidiary of Electricite de France, took bids in April for replacement parts for a 1.8-MW turbine-generator of the Breda hydroelectric project.

Panneciere was built for Seine River flood control in 1949. Electricite de France added a power plant in 1950. The civil works have been undergoing rehabilitation.

Hydrostadium seeks firms to refurbish the valve of the project’s compensating basin, including design and construction of upstream and downstream cofferdams. The work is to require eight months.

Expressions of interest, in French, are due by noon July 2 to the address below. Hydrostadium plans to compile a short-list of about five firms to be invited to bid.
