French utility seeks penstock for 2.864-MW Saint Julien Montdenis

SAEM SOREA of France seeks bids to supply and install a penstock for the proposed 2.864-MW Saint Julien Montdenis hydroelectric project on St. Julien Creek in Saint-Julien-Mont-Denis. Bids are due November 7.

The local utility took similar bids in 2009 for supply and installation of pressure pipeline from a new dam to the proposed Clapeys small hydroelectric project at Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne.

SAEM SOREA is soliciting work for Saint Julien Montdenis in four lots: earthworks, civil engineering, and construction of intake areas; supply and installation of pressure pipe and penstock connecting water intakes to the powerhouse; powerhouse construction with integrated equipment including a crane; and supply and installation of electro-mechanical equipment including valves, turbines, and electrical equipment.

The current solicitation is for Lot 2, pipe and penstock. Work includes excavation, supply and installation of the penstock and accessories, concrete construction, and fill.
