French water utility seeks turbine-generator rehab at 1.8-MW Merwent Dam hydro project

A French municipal water supplier seeks bids to refurbish turbine-generators, controls, valves, transformers and other equipment of the 1.8-MW Merwent Dam hydroelectric project in France’s Vendee Department. Bids are due April 27.

Inter-community water supply agency Syndicat Intercommunal d’Alimentation en Eau Potable (SIAEP) de la Foret de Mervent seeks bids to carry out the work at Merwent over six months.

A related water agency, Syndicat Intercommunal d’Alimentation en Eau Potable (SIAEP) Plaine et Graon, took bids last year for dam safety improvements at Graon Dam in Vendee. In February, Etablissement Public Loire awarded a contract to Scate Automation SAS to modernize the command control system at the 9-MW Naussac hydropower plant in France’s Loire River Basin.

Documents for the Merwent tender may be obtained from consultant Tractebel Engineering at the address below. Bids, in French, are due by noon April 27.
