French waterways agency seeks refurbishment of Plancher-Bas Dam

France’s navigable waterways agency, Voies Navigables de France (VNF), seeks bids for rehabilitation of Plancher-Bas Dam on the Rahin River in France’s Haute-Saone Department. Bids are due May 26.

Last year, VNF took bids for inspection and monitoring of dams and reservoirs on the Bourgogne, Briare, and Centre canals in France. In 2010, it recruited firms to reconstruct and automate 29 dams and to add or refurbish hydropower plants at the structures on France’s Aisne and Meuse rivers.

In the current solicitation, VNF seeks bids for complete rehabilitation of Plancher-Bas, which supplies water to Champagney Reservoir, one of the largest in France. Rehabilitation includes renovation of gates, renovation or replacement of some concrete and masonry portions, construction of a fish ladder, automation and remote operation. Work is to be performed from May-November 2015.

Solicitation documents may be obtained from the first address below. A site visit is required. Bids, in French, are due by 4 p.m. May 26 to the second address below.
