The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a contract worth a maximum of US$5 million to Golder Associates for geotechnical design and engineering services for the Corps’ Alaska Division and other areas of the Corps’ Pacific Ocean Division.

The Alaska District sought bids for the work in January for services that include planning, design and construction of structures including dams, levees and embankments throughout Alaska as well as the POD Division, which includes Hawaii, Japan, South Korea and other Pacific Rim areas.

Golder Associates is an international firm with more than 180 offices worldwide. HydroWorld.com reported in October 2012 that the company provided services for BC Hydro’s 105.6-MW Ruskin rehabilitation project.
