Gugler wins supply contracts for hydro projects in India

Gugler Water Turbines Ltd. and its partner, India’s Sarda Eco Power Ltd., will supply four Francis turbines and other key equipment for two small hydropower plants in India.

Two turbines will generate up to 3 MW each and the other two will produce up to 1.5 MW each, for a total capacity of 9 MW, Gugler said. Both plants – Myntriang I and Myntriang II – are expected to begin commercial production in the summer of 2010.

Also, Mahati Hydro Power Projects Ltd. has awarded Gugler a contract for the design and supply of a Kaplan bulb turbine for the Veer hydropower project near Pune, India. The plant is scheduled to begin commercial production in the summer of 2010.
