Honduras seeks pipe for three hydro projects

The government of Honduras seeks bids to supply and install steel and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe for three hydroelectric projects in various parts of the country. A briefing is scheduled March 6, with bids due April 30.

With support of the European Union’s Asia and Latin America development program, tenders are sought by Honduras’ Secretaria Tecnica y de Cooperacion and utility Empresa Nacional de Energia Electrica.

Work is being carried out under the second phase of an EU-funded program for independent power generation and energy efficiency, Generacion Autonoma y Uso Racional de Energia Electrica (Proyecto GAUREE 2). The program previously called for electro-mechanical equipment for small hydroelectric projects. (HNN 1/10/07)

The solicitation includes design, supply, and installation of:
o Lot 1, high-pressure steel pipe for a hydroelectric project; and
o Lot 2, high-pressure and low-pressure PVC pipe for two small hydroelectric projects.

An optional briefing is scheduled at 10 a.m. March 6 at the address below. For Lot 1, a mandatory site visit is scheduled for 9 a.m. March 8, departing from Hotel Colonial in La Labor, Ocotepeque Department.

An invitation-to-tender dossier may be obtained from the Internet at http://ec.europa.eu/europeaid/tender/index_es.htm or from the address below. Bids must be submitted on the standard tender form.
