Hydraulic hoists sought by China for 117-MW Shihutang

Developers of the Jiangxi Shihutang Navigation and Hydropower Complex seek bids for 32 hydraulic hoists for the 117-MW Shihutang project on China’s Ganjiang River. Bids are due May 7.

The World Bank approved US$100 million in funding in 2008 for the multipurpose project. The developers took bids in 2009 for six turbine-generators and other equipment. (HydroWorld 4/27/09)

The Shihutang complex is a single integral infrastructure comprised of several elements including a dam, sluice gates, hydropower plant, ship lock, and dam crest access road. The earthen dam is to be 559 meters long containing 24 sets of sluice gates. Associated flood protection works include 38 kilometers of dikes, 61 kilometers of diversion canals, and six pumping stations.

In the current solicitation, implementing agency Instrimpex International Tendering Co. seeks bids for Contract G2 for 23 hydraulic hoists for curved sluice gates, two hoists for the upper lock head of the navigation lock miter gates, two hoists for the lower lock head of the navigation lock miter gates, four hoists for the navigation lock valves, and one hoist for the fishway flood gate.
