Hydro generator manufacturer opening U.S. facility

Spain’s Ingeteam said it will begin construction of a U.S. combined production facility and office complex in April. Future plans for the Wisconsin facility could include Indar hydro generator engineering and production, Indar officials told HydroWorld.com.

Indar is one of the largest hydro generator manufacturers, producing generators for several varieties of turbines. (HydroWorld 12/29/09)

“In the first stage, Milwaukee will be Indar Hydro’s main base in North America for sales and marketing and for technical assistance within the U.S. and Canada,” said Pedro Garciandia, international sales area manager for Indar Electric. Garciandia said engineering and assembly of hydro generators likely will follow.

At first, the plant will focus primarily on producing Indar generators and Ingeteam converters and inverters for other aspects of the North American renewable energy market, Ingeteam reported.
