ICOLD Annual Meeting

The International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) Annual Meeting will be held May 23-26, 2010, in Vietnam. The event will be hosted at the National Convention Center, Hanoi.

Attendees to the 78th ICOLD Annual Meeting will not only participate in the presentations and discuss advances in dam and water technology but also will enjoy many natural wonders and cultural events, organizers report. The meeting includes a symposium titled “Dams and Sustainable Water Resources Development.”

ICOLD, founded in 1928, is a non-governmental organization that provides a forum for the exchange of information and expertise pertaining to dam engineering and related topics. Some of the organization’s goals are to ensure that dams are built safely and in an environmentally-friendly manner. The commission includes national committees from more than 80 countries.
