The deadline to register HydroVision International 2014’s technical tours has been extended to Wednesday, July 2, but space is limited and filling quickly.

This year’s slate of technical tours highlight four hydropower projects located in Tennessee and Kentucky, and offer an opportunity to learn first-hand about each of these unique plants.

The technical tours include:

  • Land Between the Lakes: Barkley and Kentucky Dam Tour — This tour includes stops at the 130-MW Barkley and 184-MW Kentucky dams in Kentucky, along with a visit to the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
  • Center Hill Dam: Solving Seepage Problems — Also located along the Cumberland River, the 135-MW Center Hill powerhouse is due to receive overhauls to each of its three turbine generator units, while also undergoing work to deal with seepage issues.

Now in its 20th year, HydroVision International is the world’s largest event dedicated entirely to the hydroelectric power industry. HydroVision International 2014 takes place July 22-25 at Nashville’s Music City Center.
