HydroVision speaker spotlight: John France, head of Independent Forensic Team for Oroville Dam incident

Editor’s Note: This is the first of a series of articles highlighting some speakers at HydroVision International this June in Charlotte, N.C., U.S.

John France, dams and hydropower technical practice network national leader with AECOM, will be featured in session on Wednesday, June 27, entitled Analyzing the Oroville Incident: What DID Work?

As an attendee at this interactive session, you will be one of the first to hear details about the spillway incident at Oroville Dam in California in the U.S. and what went right, as well as have an opportunity to offer your opinions.

Other speakers in this session represent the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the California Department of Water Resources, which operates Oroville Dam.

HydroWorld has brought you extensive coverage of the Oroville Dam spillway incident since it occurred in February 2017.

Most recently, the Independent Forensic Team released its final report, and the details are just a click away.

France spoke with PennWell’s Hydro Group earlier this year on camera, and the video provides important insights.

This is only one of six sessions in the Civil Works and Dam Safety track. Over two days, HydroVision International will feature 60 conference sessions: panel presentations, technical paper sessions and poster gallery displays.
