HydroWorld index makes debut

HydroWorld.com has launched a new tool for tracking the financial health of the hydropower industry.

The HydroWorld Market Index, a measure of 35 publicly traded companies, can be found on the home page of HydroWorld.com and is designed to provide readers a daily barometer on industry performance.

“What we are trying to do is give our readers a perspective on the hydropower industry,” said Marla Barnes, publisher of PennWell Corp.’s Hydro Group. “It allows them to see how well hydropower is doing vs. other sectors of our economy.”

The index includes TransCanada, Avista Corp., Andritz Hydro, Duke Energy, Toshiba International, Canadian Hydro Developers, Alstom, and ABB.
