Iceland utility seeks rehab equipment for 8.1-MW Mjolka

Iceland’s Westfjord Power Co. seeks bids to supply electro-mechanical equipment for refurbishment and extension of the 8.1-MW Mjolka hydroelectric project in northwest Iceland. Bids are due November 4.

Westfjord seeks four turbine-generators and control equipment for refurbishment and extension of Mjolka, which consists of two turbine-generators of 2.4 MW and 5.7 MW, installed in 1958 and 1975 as separate power plants in a common building on the Mjolka River.

Manufacturing and delivery of electro-mechanical equipment would occur between December 2008 and June 2011.

Tender documents may be obtained from the address below until October 15. Bids, in English, are due by 2 p.m. November 4.
