India developer seeks generating units for 120-MW Rangit 4

Jal Power Corp. Ltd. seeks bids to supply three 40-MW generating units for the 120-MW Rangit Stage 4 hydroelectric project on India’s Rangit River. Bids are due February 19.

The contract is to include design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of three Francis turbine-generators rated for a head of 103.67 meters.

Jal previously called for bids to construct the dam, intake, and desilting chambers of the run-of-river project in Sikkim State. (HNN 9/5/07) The project features a 44-meter-tall concrete gravity dam, three 130-meter-long underground desilting chambers, and three intakes.

Equipment bid documents may be obtained from the address below for 10,000 rupees or US$300. A pre-bid meeting is set for January 18.
