India developer seeks joint venture partner to develop hydro

India hydropower developer Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd. (SJVN) invites expressions of interest from companies to form a joint venture to develop hydroelectric projects on a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) basis. Responses are due March 14.

SJVN said it seeks a developer or contractor of hydropower projects to form a special purpose vehicle. Prospective partners should have experience developing a single project of at least 100 MW or two projects of at least 150 MW in the last seven years.

The request for expressions of interest may be obtained from the SJVN Internet site, www.sjvn.nic.in, under Tender New. Expressions of interest and qualifications are due by 3 p.m. March 14.

SJVN said it also planned to post a second request March 11, for submission of expressions of interest for hydropower projects on a BOOT basis. Those responses are to be due by 3 p.m. March 18.
