India firm seeks bids to equip 1,000-MW Karcham Wangtoo

Jaypee Karcham Hydro Corp. Ltd. seeks bids for five equipment packages for the 1,000-MW Karcham Wangtoo hydroelectric project being built in India’s Himachal Pradesh State. Bids are due by March 31.

Work includes:
o Package 1, four 250-MW turbine-generators, governing systems, main inlet valves, penstock valves, digital excitation systems, voltage regulating equipment, fire protection, and auxiliaries;
o Package 2, generator and transformer protection;
o Package 3, isolated phase bus ducts and generator terminal equipment;
o Package 4, cooling water system; and
o Package 5, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system.
