India firm seeks owner’s consultant for 444-MW Vishnugad Pipalkoti

Tehri Hydro Development Corp. Ltd. (THDC) invites expressions of interest for an owner’s consultant to review designs submitted by the engineering-procurement-construction (EPC) contractor for the 444-MW Vishnugad Pipalkoti hydroelectric project on the Alaknanda River. Responses are due May 25.

THDC is still taking applications, until June 29, for pre-qualification of an EPC contractor for the project. (HNN 4/10/07) Vishnugad Pipalkoti includes a 65-meter-tall concrete gravity dam, 13.4-kilometer headrace tunnel, desilting chambers, underground powerhouse containing four 111-MW vertical Francis turbine-generators, a transformer cavern, and three-kilometer tailrace tunnel.

The current solicitation seeks a consultant to review detailed design and engineering, studies, analysis, details, and drawings submitted by the EPC contractor over four or five years.

Expressions of interest, and qualifications, marked �Expression of interest for design review consultancy services for Vishnugad Pipalkoti HE Project,� are due to the address below by 4 p.m. May 25.
