Indian National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd. has named Shri K.M. Singh as its new chairman and managing director.
Singh began his tenure with NHPC in its executive trainee program at the 105-MW Loktak hydroelectric plant in 1979 after graduating with an electrical engineering degree from Gorakhpur University.
He then served in a number of capacities at the Rangit, Dhauliganga, Uri-1, Siang Basin and Indirasagar hydropower projects before being promoted to executive director in 2007.
Most recently, Singh was named chief executive director of NHDC, which is a joint venture between NHPC and the Madhya Pradesh government.
