India’s NHPC seeks SCADA system upgrade for 300-MW Chamera 2 hydro project

India’s NHPC Ltd. seeks bids to upgrade the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system of the 300-MW Chamera 2 hydroelectric project in India’s Himachal Pradesh State. Bids are due August 27.

Chamera 2 is one of three projects near Chamera Dam on the Ravi River. NHPC took bids in February for shunt reactors at 540-MW Chamera 1. It last year commissioned the last of three turbine-generators at 231-MW Chamera 3.

The hydro developer now seeks bids to upgrade the micro-SCADA system at the Chamera 2 power station. Tender documents may be obtained until August 26 and bids submitted via the tendering Internet site www.tcil-india-electronictender.com. A link to the site also is available on NHPC’s Internet site www.nhpcindia.com under “e-Procurement.” Bids are due by 2 p.m. August 27.
