India’s NHPC seeks switchgear extension bay for 540-MW Chamera 1 hydro project

India’s NHPC Ltd. seeks bids to supply a 420-kilovolt gas-insulated switchgear extension bay for the 540-MW Chamera 1 hydroelectric project in India’s Himachal Pradesh State. Clarifications may be received until January 29, with a pre-bid conference set February 5 and bids due February 23.

Chamera 1 is one of three projects near Chamera Dam on the Ravi River. NHPC took bids in 2013 to supply three 420-kilovolt, 42-megavolt-ampere reactive shunt reactors for Chamera 1. It also sought automation and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) equipment for Chamera 1 and five other hydroelectric projects.

The hydro developer now seeks bids to supply, install, test and commission the 420-kV GIS extension bay for Chamera 1.

A solicitation notice may be obtained from the NHPC Internet site, Under Tenders and Bids search for NIT No. NH/Conts(E&M)-I /CH-I-11/PR10514/433/1. Clarifications may be received until January 29. A pre-bid conference is scheduled February 5.
