India seeks bids to build Jiwa Nallah works of 800-MW Parbati 2

India’s NHPC Ltd. seeks bids to build the Jiwa Nallah works of the 800-MW Parbati 2 hydroelectric project. Bids are due December 13.

NHPC is building Parbati 2 on the Parbati River in India’s Himachal Pradesh State. Parbati 2 is an inter-basin transfer project that is to be augmented by diverting the discharge of various streams, or nallahs, along the headrace tunnel alignment.

The government-owned developer seeks civil and hydro-mechanical works for Jiwa Nallah and associated works (Lot PB 4A) of Parbati 2. Bidders must have experience in civil structures of water resources/hydropower projects, caverns, tunnels, shafts, and hydro-mechanical works. The work is valued at 919.5 million rupees (US$20.1 million)

Tender documents may be obtained from NHPC’s Internet site, www.nhpcindia.com, after online payment of 5,000 rupees (US$109). Documents also may be obtained until December 10 from the address below upon payment of the fee by demand draft to NHPC Ltd. at Faridabad.
