India seeks penstock liner work at 50-MW Nagarjunasagar Tail Pond

State-owned Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corp. (APGENCO) seeks bids for fabrication and installation of penstock steel liners for the 50-MW Nagarjunasagar Tail Pond Dam project, on the Krishna River in India’s Andhra Pradesh State. Bids are due October 31.

APGENCO awarded a contract to Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. in 2006 to supply two 25-MW vertical Kaplan turbine-generators, controls, and excitation equipment for Nagarjunasagar Tail Pond. (HNN 7/5/06)

In tender specification C-2029/NSTPD/17/2008, APGENCO seeks bids for fabrication and installation of the liners from steel plates supplied by APGENCO. The work, valued at 14 million rupees (US$296,000) is to be performed 21 kilometers downstream from Nagarjunasagar Dam.

Requests for tender specification documents must be delivered by October 13 to the address below accompanied by: copies of experience and financial capability certificates; a demand draft for the cost of the bid documents of 3,375 rupees (US$71); and an earnest money deposit of 140,000 rupees (US$2,955), of which 100,000 rupees (US$2,111) is to be paid by demand draft or bankers check with the remainder in the form of a bank guarantee from a nationalized bank. Demand drafts or bankers checks are to be drawn in favor of Pay Officer, APGENCO, Vidyut Soudha, Hyderabad.

Earnest money deposits will be forfeited by applicants who obtain tender documents but do not submit bids.
