India state clean energy program to include hydropower

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is expected to recruit consultants for a clean power development investment program in India’s Jammu and Kashmir State that is to include hydropower.

ADB is considering whether to provide US$800,000 in ADB technical assistance to hire consultants to help examine technical feasibility of proposed project components, including selected hydropower development options.

Other work would include assessing the overall feasibility of proposed sector development policy components; the economic, financial, environmental, and social viability of project components and the entire project; and commercial feasibility and private sector participation potential. The consultant would recommend financing mechanisms, institutional strengthening, capacity development, and human resource development programs.
